Ulrich Schwark
Ulrich Schwark is a native of Germany, where he began his career with an apprenticeship at the country’s second largest bank.
After studying at the University of Cologne, Mr. Schwark worked as a stockbroker in Germany, London, the Netherlands and the U.S.
In 1988, he founded Schwark and Partners Real Estate LLC in Cologne and moved into real estate development and construction. Over the next 8 years, Schwark and Partners developed some 130 properties. While specializing in residential development, the firm also remodeled a 50,000 square-foot office building, and redeveloped the Cologne/Bonn Airport Business Park, comprising 240,000 square feet of rentable space. Schwark and Partners was recognized for the excellence of its work with a prestigious national architecture and redevelopment award.
In 1996, Mr. Schwark expanded into international real estate development as owner of Sunpoint Group in Algarve, Portugal. There he managed development and construction of exclusive vacation homes, with an average sale price of $1.5 million. The firm’s Sunpoint Casa & Campo division supplied interior design services, as well as indoor and outdoor furnishings, to complete the vacation home packages. The company was awarded third place in the 2003 competition for Best Interior Design Beachfront Community in Europe.
Between 1996 and 2006, the firm developed and sold some 30 properties and served 5,000 clients. Celebrity clients included European royalty, members of the Forbes 100 List, three Formula 1 race car drivers, and a British Premier League football player and manager.In 2007, Mr. Schwark founded Two Oceans Group of Panama City, Panama, in partnership with Mr. Peter Stehling. In less than four years, the firm has become one of the six largest real estate brokerage firms in the country.
The company also develops real estate, with more than $100 million in projects currently under development. Projects include communities for Panama’s growing middle class called Villas de Ensueño, and Emerald Bay, a luxury resort development featuring a 5-star, 120-room international hotel on the Caribbean Coast.
Mr. Schwark and Mr. Stehling also own related businesses, including the trading company Schweizerische Metallhandel Panama, SMH, a licensed partner for the Americas of SMH Swiss, one of the world’s largest trading companies for industrial metals. SMH Panama advises private, institutional and industrial clients in the purchase of strategic industrial metals.
Swiss Metal Assets S.A is the sales company that is promoting these metals to private and institutional investors
They are partners as well in Infracrete Panama, a construction materials importer that holds Latin America import licenses for several major European building supply companies.
Mr. Schwark, a member of the American Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Panama (AMCHAM), has been a guest speaker at international conferences on real estate taxes and financing in Panama.
